This burger beats the drive through hands down! These will be the star of your summer BBQ.
|1||Box Maple Leaf Prime® Naturally Turkey Burgers|
|12||Slices Maple Leaf® Bacon|
|6||hamburger buns, split|
|6||slices old cheddar cheese|
|6||slices white cheese|
|6||leaves leaf lettuce|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) red onion, thinly sliced|
|1||large tomato, sliced thin|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) onion, diced fine|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) thousand island dressing|
|3/4 cup||(175 mL) mayonnaise|
PREHEAT grill to medium high heat.
IN a bowl combine the mayonnaise, thousand island dressing and diced onions, stir well and set aside.
HEAT a large skillet over medium high heat and fry bacon for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until desired crispness.
REMOVE onto a paper towel lined plate and keep warm.
BBQ burgers per package directions.
LIGHTLY toast buns on grill for about 30 to 45 seconds.
ASSEMBLE burgers by spreading thousand island dressing on the bottom bun and then laying one slice each of cheddar on top.
PLACE burgers on top.
DIVIDE leaf lettuce and sliced tomatoes between burgers and top with two slices of bacon.
TOP with remaining bun. Serve immediately.
Try serving with onion rings alongside ketchup and mustard.
