This version of a turkey burger is both healthy and delicious.
|1||lb Maple Leaf Prime® extra lean ground turkey|
|2 cups||(500 mL) quinoa, cooked and chilled|
|1 cup||(250 mL) feta, crumbled|
|3/4 cup||(175 mL) parsley, chopped|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) garlic, minced|
|6||whole grain buns, split|
|1 cup||(250 mL) cucumber|
|1 cup||(250 mL) pea shoots|
|6 tbsp||(90 mL) tzatziki sauce|
IN a large bowl using your hands mix turkey, quinoa, egg, feta, onion and parsley.
SEASON with salt and pepper.
DO not over work, mix just enough to combine ingredients.
SHAPE into 6 patties.
PREHEAT grill to medium high heat.
GRILL burgers 6 to 7 minutes per side or until an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
ASSEMBLE burgers by laying avocado on bottom bun followed by burger, cucumber, tomato and pea shoots and top bun.
Put burgers in the freezer for 15 minutes after forming. This will help hold their shape.
