Simple Panini recipe, great for upcoming Asparagus season.
|half a pear|
|slices of parmesan cheese|
|a few stalks of blanched asparagus|
|1 tsp||real maple syrup|
|1 tbsp||olive oil|
|salt and pepper|
|2||slices of bread|
Blanch asparagus, set aside.
Slice half the pear, thinly. In a pan, heat a splash of olive oil. Throw pear in with a dash of pepper. Cook for a few minutes until softened, then add tsp of real maple syrup. Set aside until cool.
Once asparagus and pear are cool, start to make your sandwich. Brush bread with olive oil or butter. Lay arugula on one side, then pear, then asparagus, then thin slices of parmesan.
Brush outsides of bread with olive oil and place in sandwich press. Cook approximately 8 minutes.
