Slow cookers aren't just for the fall, they're for the summer too! They don't heat up your house and they're perfect for busy summer days because they do the work for you!


2/3 cup Dry white beans
2/3 cup Millot
1 Carrot, diced
1 Bell pepper, diced
2 Cloves of garlic, minced
1/2 Onion, diced
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
4 cups Water or veggie stock
1/4 cup Tomato paste
3 tbsp Black bean sauce
6 Villaggio buns
6 Leaves or handfuls of lettuce


1. In the morning, add all the ingredients except the black bean sauce, buns, and lettuce to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.

2. Turn the slow cooker on low and cook for about 7-9 hours.

3. Stir the black bean sauce into the slow cooker mixture and toast the buns.

4. Scoop generous spoons of the beans in the buns, top with lettuce, and enjoy!
