Umami is simply “pleasant, savoury, taste”. Umami is one of the 5 basic taste senses. This meatloaf recipe is simply delightful!
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Butter|
|1||Large onion, sliced|
|1||(114 g) Package thinly sliced shitake mushrooms|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Chopped sun-dried tomatoes|
|1 lb||(454 g) Package Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Extra Lean Ground Turkey|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Finely grated Parmesan cheese|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Soya sauce|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Worchestershire sauce|
|Salt and pepper|
PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C).
MELT butter in a skillet over low. Add onion and mushrooms. Cook until a deep golden brown colour, about 30 minutes. Let cool.
COMBINE all of the remaining ingredients along with the cooled onion and mushroom mixture. Do not overwork.
FORM the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
