This is a savoury and sweet appetizer. Stuffed dates wrapped in juicy Turkey Bacon.
A tasty and lower fat alternative using Maple Leaf Turkey n Bacon strips.
|12||large medjool dates, pitted|
|100 g||prepared rice or grain salad|
|3 tbsp||greek yogourt tzatziki|
|3 tbsp||minced red pepper|
|6||slices Maple Leaf Turkey n Bacon, cut in half|
Mix the grain salad with the yogurt dip and peppers. Set aside
With a knife cut the top of the date leaving a border on each end.
Remove the stone, plump up the date by pressing on the ends making the cavity bigger.
Stuff the date with a large dollop of filling.
Place the date, cut side up on one edge of the bacon.
Roll away from you, enveloping the bacon around the date.
Place seem side down on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated 375F for 15 min or until bacon is golden.
Skewer the dates and place on a platter.
