A classic sandwich with a healthy twist using turkey bacon.
16 | slices Maple Leaf Prime® Bacon Style Turkey |
2 tbsp | (30 mL) olive oil |
8 | slices home style or Italian style bread |
1 cup | (250 mL) reduced fat or regular style mayonnaise |
2 | granny smith apples, cored and sliced |
8 | slices tomato |
8 | leaves romaine lettuce, torn |
HEAT oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
WORKING in batches cook bacon 2 to 3 minutes per side or until desired crispness.
REMOVE onto paper towel lined tray.
ASSEMBLE sandwiches by dividing half the mayonnaise between both top and bottom slices of bread.
LAYER lettuce on bottom slice followed by tomato, apple and bacon.
TOP with remaining slice of bread.
Serve with a side salad.
