About this Recipe

A classic Italian pasta sauce using pantry staples converted into a relish to top these juicy tangy turkey burgers.


2 Packages (approximately 800 g) Maple Leaf Prime® Extra Lean minced Turkey
1 cup (250 mL) Crumbled Feta cheese
1 tbsp (15 mL) Chopped fresh oregano
1 tbsp (15 mL) Lemon zest
Salt and pepper to taste
4 Buns, split
Arugula for garnish
1 Red tomato, seeded, diced
1 Yellow tomato, seeded, diced
.25 cup (60 mL) Diced red onion
2 tbsp (30 mL) Capers
1 tbsp (15 mL) Chopped fresh chives
1 tbsp (15 mL) Lemon juice
1 Clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp (30 mL) Chopped Kalamata olives
Salt and Pepper


COMBINE turkey, Feta, oregano, lemon zest, salt and pepper in a bowl. Gently mix together and shape into 6 patties.

MIX together all ingredients for the relish in a small bowl and set aside.

PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high. Lightly coat the grill with non-stick cooking spray. Grill patties 5 to 7 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

TOAST buns, cut side down, on the grill until lightly browned. Top burgers with Puttanesca relish and arugula before serving.
