Tender turkey strips and freshly sautéed mushrooms make this savoury sandwich mouth-watering! In the summer months, try toasting it on the barbecue.

Ingredients

1 DEMPSTER’S® OvenFresh™ Baguette
15 ml Vegetable oil
250 ml Sliced mushrooms
150 ml Package MAPLE LEAF Prime® Fully Cooked Turkey Breast Strips
75 ml OLIVIERI® Nutriwise Tomato and Basil Sauce
125 ml Shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 400°F (200°C). CUT baguette lengthwise and put back together; place on baking sheet in oven for 8 minutes. Meanwhile, add oil to a large skillet heated to medium-high. SAUTÉ mushrooms for 3 to 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium, add turkey and pasta sauce; warm for 2 to 3 minutes. REMOVE some of bread from bottom half of baguette to create a small cavity; spoon turkey mixture onto bottom half of baguette; Sprinkle with cheese and bake until cheese melts, about 2-3 minutes.
