|1 Pkg||(900 g) Package frozen French fries|
|Salt & pepper|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) Ketchup|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Sriracha hot sauce|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Mayonnaise|
|8||Slices Dempster’s® Soft Slice™ Thick Slice Bread|
|3 cups||(750 mL) Grated, old white Cheddar cheese|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Freshly chopped basil|
COOK French fries according to package directions. Season with salt and pepper.
MIX together ketchup, sriracha and mayonnaise in a small bowl.
PREHEAT broiler to high.
LAY sliced bread on a baking tray and place under the broiler for about 1 minute on each side or until toasted. Sprinkle cheese over the toasted bread and place under the broiler for 1-2 minutes or until melted.
ASSEMBLE sandwiches by topping 4 slices of cheesy bread with a sprinkle of basil. Top with French fries saving some to have on the side. Drizzle with spicy ketchup sauce and top with remaining cheesy bread.
Add a dash of vinegar to the fries if desired.
