Intense flavours like cumin, chili and garlic complement these chicken burgers packed with the goodness of black bean and sweet corn burgers.
|1 Pkg||(454 g) Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Extra Lean Ground Chicken|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Cumin|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Chili powder|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Hot sauce (optional)|
|3||Cloves garlic, minced|
|Salt and pepper|
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Canned and drained roughly mashed black beans|
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Grated Tex-Mex cheese|
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Frozen or canned corn, drained|
|4||Hamburger Buns, lightly toasted|
|ketchup or salsa for garnish|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high and lightly coat the grill with non-stick cooking spray.
USING your hands, gently combine ground chicken, cumin, chili powder, hot sauce (if using), garlic, salt, pepper, black beans, corn and grated cheese in a large bowl.
Divide mixture into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties.
GRILL burgers for 5-6 minutes per side or until nicely char grilled and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
ASSEMBLE burgers by placing lettuce and a patty on the bottom half of each bun. Top with ketchup and/or salsa and remaining bun tops.
