About this Recipe

The sweet and tangy braised cabbage is perfect for the tender, sweetly glazed ham.

1/2 Red cabbage, thinly sliced
1 Small onion, thinly sliced
2 Apples, thinly sliced
1 cup (250 mL) Chicken broth
2 tbsp (30 mL) Brown sugar
2 tbsp (30 mL) Dijon mustard
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp (15 mL) Apple cider vinegar
1 Bay leaf
Salt and pepper
1 Schneiders® Country Naturals ™ Tender Tip™ Ham
1/4 cup (60 mL) Apple jelly
1 tbsp (15 mL) Honey
2 tbsp (30 mL) Dijon mustard
1 tbsp (15 mL) Apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp (30 mL) Fresh thyme, chopped

PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C).

PLACE red cabbage, onion and apples in the bottom of a roasting pan. Stir together the chicken broth, brown sugar, mustard, garlic and apple cider vinegar. Add bay leaf and pour over the cabbage mixture. Toss to coat, season with salt and pepper. Place ham on top and cover tightly with foil. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

MIX together all of the ingredients for the glaze. After the ham has cooked for 35 minutes, pour the glaze over the ham. Return, uncovered to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes.
