It's easy to pack a spectacular sandwich for your summer picnic with Maple Leaf® Flakes of Ham.
|4||large kaisers or crusty buns|
|.25 cup||light Italian salad dressing|
|2||(5.5 oz/156 g cans) Maple Leaf® Flakes of Ham (drained and flaked)|
|1 cup||(250 mL) shredded low fat cheddar cheese|
|1 cup||(250 mL) finely chopped red pepper|
|1 cup||(250 mL) shredded low fat mozzarella cheese|
SLICE buns in half and remove some of the soft bread from the centre (top and bottom) to create a bowl, leaving approx ½-inch (1 cm) on both sides.
BRUSH tops and bottoms of buns with salad dressing and layer lettuce, flaked ham, cheddar cheese, red pepper, mozzarella cheese on the bottom bun.
ADD another layer of lettuce and cover with the top half of bun.
PRESS buns together gently. Wrap tightly in plastic and chill at least 2 hours or overnight.
TIPS Add ½ cup (125 mL) Finely chopped olives
