Build yourself a sandwich you can be proud of with this steak and pepper sandwich, topped with cheese, cajun spice and watercress.
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Oil, divided|
|1||(450 g) Fast fry strip loin steak|
|1||Large onion, sliced|
|1||(5 mL) Cajun spice|
|4||Slices Provolone cheese|
|1||Small bunch watercress|
|8||Slices Villaggio® Original Thick Sliced Italian Style White Bread, toasted|
HEAT oil in a large skillet over high heat. Fry steaks for 1-2 minutes per side or until seared and golden brown. Remove from pan and set aside to rest. Reduce heat to medium-high, add onions and cook for 1-2 minutes or until softened. Stir in peppers and Cajun spice. Slice steak into strips and return to pan.
ASSEMBLE by placing a slice of cheese on four slices of toasted bread. Top with steak and pepper mixture, a handful of watercress and the second slice of toast.
