Authentic English taste and style. This is a classic steak dish served with yummy potatoes and classic brown gravy-- what could be better?
|2 cup||(500 mL) Milk|
|2 cup||(500 mL) All purpose flour|
|5 tsp||(20 mL) Oil, divided|
|4 cups||(1 L) Prepared beef gravy|
|10||(4 oz/120 mL) Maple Leaf ® Sliced Steak|
WHISK together milk and egg. Beat in flour until smooth. Chill for at least one hour.
PREHEAT oven to 450°F (230°C). Place ½ tsp (2 mL) of oil in the bottom of ten 4 ½-5” (10-12 cm) round pans. Place in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately fill each pan with chilled batter. Return to the oven and bake for 15 minutes until puffed and golden.
HEAT the prepared gravy in a large saucepan. Add the sliced steak and heat over medium.
ASSEMBLE by topping each Yorkshire with a portion of sliced steak and drizzling with gravy.
Serve with vegetables, mashed potatoes and horseradish.
