This Holiday Turkey is Smokey on the outside and tender on the inside.
Homemade cranberry sauce is sweet and savory with the addition of Canadian apples and Italian Rosemary
|1||12-15lb MLP Turkey|
|rinsed||and patted dry|
|1||tbsp. each smoked paprika|
|salt||and black pepper|
|1 tsp||each garlic powder and thyme|
|1||bag of fresh cranberries|
|1||tbsp. fresh or dried rosemary|
Sprinkle turkey inside and out with the 2nd and 3rd ingredients. Massage all over
Cover with foil and cook at 350F for 1 hr.
Uncover and continue to cook according to directions on pkg or until juices run clear for another 45-1hr.
Allow it to rest for 1/2hr.
Apple Cranberry Sauce
Place all ingredients except rosemary into a medium size saucepot.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
Add rosemary and turn the heat off.
Ladle the sauce into a decorative jar and seal.
Refrigerate until needed, then serve with turkey.
Can be stored refrigerated for months.
Sides: Butternut squash, corn, parsley,,onions and a splash of white wine are sautéed in 2 tbsp. oil and seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked slowly until tender.
