An innovative approach to the classic mac and cheese. Switch up dinner time with a mac and cheese that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Loaded with flavor complements of delicious Chicken Smoked Sausage.
|3 cups||Elbow Macaroni, dry|
|1 tbsp||Grainy Dijon Mustard|
|3 cups||grated Old Cheddar cheese|
|1 Pkg||J.M.Schneiders Chicken Smoked Sausage|
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Lightly coat muffin pan with Olive oil (will make 12 muffin cups)
Cook macaroni according to package directions (about 8 minutes).
To make the cheese sauce. Melt butter, then stir in flour, mustard and pepper. Whisk in milk, simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in 2 two cups of grated cheddar cheese, until melted and combined.
Mix cheese sauce with cooked macaroni , stir in sliced sausage.
Scoop with heaping rounded tops, into muffin pans. Cover with remaining 1 cup of cheese. Bake for 20-30 minutes until golden. Remove from oven, and let rest for 10 minutes.
