I love my slow cooker, especially when I can make some of my favorite take-out meals at home, in a more healthy version! This slow cooker version of sesame chicken reduces the fat by eliminating the deep-fryer, instead bringing you a comfort-food version of this delicious favorite dish.
|4||Maple Leaf Prime Chicken Breasts|
|1/2 cup||soy sauce|
|1/2 cup||diced onion|
|2 tbsp||olive oil|
|2||garlic cloves, minced|
|1/4 tsp||red pepper flakes|
|1 tbsp||sesame seeds|
|1 bunch||green onions, diced|
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper and place in slow cooker.
Mix the honey, soy sauce, onion, ketchup, olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Pour over chicken.
Cook on low for 4 hours, or high for 2 hours.
Remove chicken from slow cooker, leaving the sauce behind.
Dissolve the cornstarch in ⅓ cup of water, and pour into slow cooker.
Cook the sauce for 10 minutes so it can thicken.
As the sauce cooks, slice the chicken.
Return the chicken to the pot and coat with sauce.
