Using canned ground tomatoes eliminates the ketchup usually found in this recipe to keep added sugars minimal.
|1 Pkg||Maple Leaf Prime Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts|
|1/3 cup||low sodium soy sauce|
|1/3 cup||canned ground tomatoes (no salt added)|
|3/4 tsp||dried basil|
|3||garlic cloves, minced|
|Black pepper||to taste|
|Canola oil spray||for greasing|
Grease the slow cooker pot with canola spray. Place chicken breasts in slow cooker pot. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, tomatoes, basil, and garlic. Pour mixture over chicken and add black pepper, to taste. Cook for 6 hours on low. When cooking time is complete, shred chicken with two forks. Serve with sauteed broccoli and rice.
