You can make the caramelized onion ahead of time and keep warm for the game time.

|1/4 cup||butter (optional olive oil)|

Slice onions and add to slow cooker with butter and cook on low overnight or about 10 hours. If too much liquid accumulates drain or for more intensive flavour crack open lid to let out the steam.
Add a generous amount to each weiner and bun. Add optional condiments.
