About this Recipe

BBQ season is here, get the grill heated up with a nice fat juicy steak.

1 16oz striploin steak
1 cup of sliced onions
2 potatoes
1 cup of mushroom (your choice)
1 tbs prepared garlic
2 tbs BBQ sauce
salt and pepper to taste
3 tbs butter

This simple recipe is a classic meat and potato supper. Perfect for summer. Start by trimming the gristle around the edge of the steak. Season with pepper and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes. If you can get new potatoes, you won't have to peel them. I had mine cleaned then put them on the stove in a small pot ( I put them in whole) with salted water cook your potatoes until ready and place them in cold water right away, just long enough so you can grab them to peel off the skin (trick I learned). This keep the potatoe intact and you don't waste any of it by peeling. Mash them with 1tbs of butter and set aside on the plate. In a small frying pan, Saute the mushrooms with a bit of butter, add a bit of salt and pepper, once done, remove and place on plate. Do the same thing with the onions, cook until tender. With the remaining butter cook the garlic for a few minutes and take pan off stove until ready to use. Get the grill started and get it high and hot and when it is ready place steak on and close lid, cook for 4 and 1/2 minutes per side if you want a nice rare steak. Longer if you like medium. Place the cooked steak on the plate beside the veggies and usuing a spatula spread the butter and garlic from the pan onto the steak. Pour your fav BBQ in a dipping bowl and enjoy the meal.
