This Simple Fried Rice recipe is a perfect side to make if you have leftover steamed rice! Sauté peppers, peas and green onions, fry and serve!
|1 cup||(250 mL) Water|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Instant rice|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Vegetable oil|
|½ cup||(125 mL) Diced peppers – mixture of green, red, and yellow|
|½ cup||(125 mL) Frozen peas|
|2||Green onions, sliced|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Soy sauce|
BOIL water in a medium saucepan. Add rice; stir, cover, and remove from heat. Let stand for 5 minutes. HEAT oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add peppers, peas and green onion; sauté for 1 to 2 minutes. Add cooked rice and soy sauce; fry for 1 to 2 minutes. TIP: Replace instant rice with 2 cups (500 mL) leftover steamed rice.
