|1 tsp||(5 mL) Mustard powder|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Salt|
|1||Clove garlic, minced|
|Pinch of pepper|
|2 cups||(500 mL) Milk|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Grated cheese (Swiss or Cheddar)|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Freshly chopped parsley|
|5||Medium white potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Thinly sliced onion|
|8||Schneiders® Country Naturals® Wieners, halved lengthwise and sliced|
PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C).
HEAT butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour, mustard powder, salt, garlic and pepper. Cook, stirring for 1-2 minutes, gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in cheese and parsley.
PLACE half the sliced potatoes in a lightly greased 9x13” (3.5L) baking dish. Top with half the sliced onions and half the cheese sauce. Arrange the wieners over top then add the remaining potatoes, onions and sauce.
COVER with aluminum foil and bake for 1-½ hours or until bubbly and potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
