This is down home; comfort food at it’s best. Savoury and delicious! Try it with fresh biscuits and fried eggs.
|1||500g pkg of Grill'ems any flavour|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Butter|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Flour|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Ground sage|
|1/4 tsp||(1 mL) Onion powder|
|Salt and pepper|
HEAT a large skillet over medium-high. Remove the sausage from the casing and add to the pan. Cook, breaking apart with the back of a wooden spoon for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
ADD butter to the pan and stir till melted. Sprinkle flour over the sausage along with sage and onion powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring.
WHISK in milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes or until nicely thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve hot over buttermilk biscuits.
Serve with fried eggs.
