The original stuffing recipe is a family favourite my mother in law has been making for 50 years. I have made some slight modification over the years by adding some colour with dried cranberries and now Apple Pie Bagels!!
My family loved the additional apple flavour the bagels delivered.
|2 Pkg||bulk sausage meat|
|2 cups||cracker crumbs|
|4||apple pie bagels|
|1/2 cup||dried cranberries|
|1 cup||apple cider (or stock or water)|
-Toast 4 apple pie bagels and set aside to cool - then chop into 1/4 inch squares
-Cook sausage meat until no longer pink breaking up with a spoon
-Remove meat to side dish
-Add chopped onion and apple and cook until onions are translucent.
-Add seasoning, chopped bagel and cracker crumbs and cooked sausage meat.
-Add apple cider to moisten but not wet.
Bake at 350* for 45 minutes or until golden. Enjoy!
