As I used Greek pitas for this recipe, you can individualize the toppings. Although the sausages are precooked, I did heat them up in a frying pan for a bit before adding them to the pizza.
|1||Greek style pita|
|3 tbsp||plain tomato sauce|
|2||Maple Leaf fully cooked, Original sausages|
|mozzarella cheese, grated|
|3||fresh basil leaves|
Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
Lightly cook two Maple Leaf Pre-Cooked original sausages in frying pan. Once heated through, set aside and cut up in chunky pieces.
Lay pita on pizza pan. Spread tomato sauce, then cheese. Bake in oven for approximately 8 minutes.
Remove from oven and gently crack egg on pizza and sprinkle sausage. Lightly drizzle olive oil and return pizza to oven.
Bake for 5-7 mins more or until egg is cooked to desired preference. If necessary, switch to broil for a minute or two to cook the egg more quickly.
Remove, and serve immediately, with salt to taste.
