This is a truly heartwarming bowl of goodness. It’s full of flavour and comfort.


3 tbsp (45 mL) Olive oil
1 JMS Jalapeno Chicken Sausages, sliced into rounds
2 Onions, sliced
2 Cloves garlic, minced
.5 lb (225 g) Mini new potatoes, quartered
2 Carrots, chopped
2 Stalks celery, chopped
1 (28 oz/796 mL) Can diced tomatoes
4 cups (1 L) Chicken broth
Salt and pepper
1 Bay leaf
2 tsp (10 mL) Italian Seasoning
1 (14 oz/398 mL) Can chick peas, drained
1 Sprig thyme, leaves picked


HEAT olive oil over medium heat. Add sausages and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add onions, garlic, potatoes, carrots, celery, tomatoes and broth. Season with salt, pepper, bay leaf and Italian seasoning.

COVER and simmer on low for 30 minutes. Stir in chick peas and fresh thyme and simmer for an additional 5 minutes until heated through.
