About this Recipe

My gram always made raisin pie. Her recipe was kept in her head. My gramps would crimp the crust - the closest he ever got to cooking anything. This raisin pie is made with vinegar, balancing out the inherent sweetness of the raisins

1 Pkg Tenderflake Pie Crust
2 cup raisins
2 cup water
.5 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp corn starch
.5 tsp cinnamon
.25 tsp nutmeg
.25 tsp salt
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp butter

Boil raisins and water together approximately 5 minutes.
Combine all dry ingredients together and add to boiling raisin mixture
Cook until clear and thick
Cool to the point it is no longer boiling, then add vinegar and butter.
Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature
Pour into bottom pie crust
Top with second pie crust
Bake in pre-heated 425 F oven for approximately 30 min
