Crisp on the outside with creamy smooth melted cheese and smoky ham on the inside. The mayonnaise and mustard make this dish rich and delicious.
|4||Leaf Prime Naturally® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts|
|4 oz||(113 g) Swiss cheese, cut into four sticks|
|4||slices Maple Leaf® Natural Selections® Smoked Uncured Black Forest Ham|
|1 1/2 tbsp||(22 mL) Dijon mustard|
|1 1/2 tbsp||(22 mL) Mayonnaise|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Melted butter|
|Salt and pepper|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Breadcrumbs|
PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C).
PLACE chicken breasts on a cutting board. Using a very sharp knife, make a lengthwise cut in the side of each breast to form a pocket. Be careful not to cut all the way through. Wrap each stick of cheese with a slice of ham and insert one into the pocket of each chicken breast. Close the pocket with a toothpick if needed.
MIX mustard and mayonnaise together and coat each chicken breast with the mixture. Arrange the chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with melted butter and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature of the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
