About this Recipe

Perfectly done Pork Chops that compliment every meal.

Ingredients

1 tbsp (15 mL) Vegetable oil
Salt and pepper
4 Maple Leaf Prime® Portions Boneless Pork Chops
1 Onion, sliced
2 Apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3 Cloves garlic
2 tsp (10 mL) Grainy mustard
2 tsp (10 mL) Chopped fresh thyme
.5 cup (125 mL) Apple cider or juice
1 tbsp (15 mL) Flour
.5 cup (125 mL) Whipping cream (35%)
Chopped fresh chives

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 350°F (180°C).

HEAT oil in a large non-stick skillet oven medium-high. Season pork with salt and pepper on both sides. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until browned. Transfer to a shallow baking dish. Add onion and apples to the same skillet and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. Stir in garlic, mustard and thyme, season with salt and pepper and cook stirring for 2 minutes more.

DEGLAZE the pan with apple cider, scraping any brown bits from the bottom. Simmer until the liquid has almost evaporated. Sprinkle flour into the pan and whisk in the cream. Heat to a simmer then spoon the sauce over the pork chops.

BAKE uncovered for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Garnish with fresh chives and serve.

Notes
