Topped with Pickled Red Onions, these Pepperjack Turkey burgers are both sweet and savoury!
|1 lb||(500 g) Maple Leaf® Prime® Naturally Extra Lean Ground Turkey|
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Grated Pepperjack cheese|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Worcestershire sauce|
|.25 cup||(60 mL) Crushed corn flake cereal|
|Salt and pepper|
|.25 cup||(60 mL) Sugar|
|.75 cup||(175 mL) Vinegar|
|1||Small red onion, thinly sliced|
|4||Dempster’s® English Muffins, split and toasted|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Baby spinach|
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Mayonnaise|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Prepared relish|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Hot chili garlic sauce|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Dijon mustard|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high.
MIX gently turkey, cheese, Worcestershire, cereal, salt and pepper. Using your hands form into four patties.
HEAT sugar and vinegar to a boil then simmer until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour over onions in a small bowl and set aside to cool.
COAT grill lightly with a non-stick cooking spray and grill patties for 6-8 minutes on each side or until evenly charred and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
WHISK together mayonnaise, relish, hot chili garlic sauce and mustard. Assemble with half an English muffin, then spinach, avocado, tomato, patty, sauce, pickled onion and top with the other half of the English muffin.
