PORK, BACON & HAM will thrill the gents and ladies at your next GAME event. This Savoury Sammy will Satisfy any hearty Appehtite finished with a Spicy Arugula Pesto
|4||Ciabatta Buns, sliced horizontally|
|8||slices of Maple Leaf or Schneiders Bacon|
|8||slices Schnieiders Black Forest Ham|
|1||pkg. Maple Leaf Prime Boneless Pork Loin Chops|
|1||Arugula Pesto Recipe|
|2 cup||Arugula leaves and stems, washed, chopped|
|2 tbsp||Basil Pesto, store bought|
|1/4 cup||Extra Virgin Olive Oil|
|2 tbsp||grated Parmesan cheese|
|1 tbsp||Franks red hot sauce, or your favourite|
|1 tsp||rosemary, dried or fresh|
|1/4 can||Black olives, sliced, drained|
Pesto: Place arugula, pesto, cheese, hot sauce and olive oil in a food processor/blender. Puree until smooth.
*You can add more oil for a loose consistency or leave it chunky*
Meanwhile: In a preheated large skillet cook bacon until crispy. Drain.
Reserve all but 1tbsp bacon fat from the skillet and sear both sides of the pork loin chops, adding the rosemary to the pan while cooking. Cook for approx. 5 min. Remove from skillet.
* No salt is needed*
Brush the reserved bacon fat on to the cut sides of the bread. Pan sear each inside of the buns.
Divide the Pesto between all the buns. Layer a chop, 2 slices of bacon and 2 slices of Ham, top with black olives for each Sammy. Cut in half.
