Perfect for company on a weekend morning. Easy, but elegant.
2-3 eggs | |
1/4 cup milk | |
orange zest | |
5 slices thick white bread | |
1 tbsp butter | |
5 slices of Maple Leaf Bacon | |
1 tsp real vanilla | |
dash cinnamon | |
1 dash of salt | |
maple syrup |
Fry bacon until cooked through, but still bendable. Set aside.
Remove crusts on bread slices and cut each slice into thirds. Set aside
(Each serving is 4-5 strips)
In a shallow dish, mix eggs, milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla, a pinch of cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
Grate in orange zest (approximately 1 tsp.) mix will.
Place bread strips into mixture until soaked through, but not soaking. Remove and set on a plate until all strips have been dunked.
Melt 1 tbsp. butter in frying pan. Add the strips one at a time. Cook over medium heat for approximately 10 minutes until cooked through. Remove pan from heat. Wrap 1/2 slice of bacon around each strip. Lay three -four on each plate. Drizzle with maple syrup and garnish with fruit. Enjoy!
