Dinner comes together in a snap with a sausage and pepper sauté cooked in one skillet.
2 tbsp | (30 mL) Olive oil, divided |
1 | (500g) Maple Leaf® Sausage Meat |
1 | Large sweet onion, sliced |
4 | Cloves garlic, minced |
1 | Green Pepper, sliced |
2 | Red peppers, sliced |
Salt and pepper |
HEAT 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausages and cook them, turning frequently until nicely browned, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
INCREASE heat to medium-high and add remaining 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil. Add onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper and cook until soft, about 4 minutes. Add peppers. Cook tossing frequently for 2-3 minutes. Return sausages to the pan. Reduce heat to low and cook until the internal temperature of the sausage reaches 165˚F (74˚C).
Serve with pasta or serve sausage on a bun topped with peppers and onions.
