Cheese curds melted into a juicy turkey burger then topped with peameal bacon and Canadian cheddar! Oh Canada!


1 lb Maple Leaf Prime Naturally® Minced Turkey
1 Egg yolk
3 Cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp Minced onion
2 Chipotles in Adobo plus 1 tbsp sauce
Salt and pepper
3 tbsp Bread crumbs
1 oz Cheese curds, divided
8 Slices Schneiders® Country Naturals® Peameal Bacon
8 Slices tomato
4 oz Balderson Old White Cheddar cheese
1/3 cup Ready prepared caramelized onions
4 Hamburger buns, split
1/2 cup Spring mix


PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high. Lightly coat the grill with non-stick cooking spray.

GENTLY mix together, minced turkey, egg yolk, garlic, onion, chipotles, sauce, salt, pepper and breadcrumbs. Using your hands form into 4 equal portions. Poke a well in the center of each and insert ¼ oz (8 g) of cheese curd into each one. Form the patty around the cheese.

GRILL the burgers for about 8 minutes per side or until evenly char-grilled and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

COOK the peameal bacon on a well-oiled grill for 2-3 minutes per side or until evenly heated to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

ASSEMBLE the burger by topping the bottom half of each bun with spring mix, followed by the burger, peameal bacon, tomato, Cheddar cheese, caramelized onion and the top of the bun.
