The roasted red pepper and peppery arugula add loads of flavour to this Italian style sandwich served on Villaggio® Thick Sliced Italian Style Bread.


4 slices Villaggio® Original Thick Sliced Italian Style White Bread
3 tbsp (45 mL) Mayonnaise
1 tbsp (15 mL) Finely grated Parmesan cheese
Generous pinch of black pepper
½ tsp (2 mL) Lemon juice
6 oz (170 g) Sliced mortadella
1 Roasted red pepper, cut into 1” strips
Handful fresh arugula


LIGHTLY toast the bread if desired.

MIX mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, pepper and lemon juice and spread over two of the slices of bread. Divide mortadella, red pepper and arugula between the two slices of bread. Top with remaining bread. Cut in half to serve.


Serve with hot pickles or pepperoncini peppers.
