Nothing announces the arrival of summer in Canada better than fresh blackberries!
|4||Dempster's® Maple French Toast bagels|
|1/4 cup||Maple Syrup|
|2.5 cups||Fresh Blackberries|
|1.5 cups||Cream Cheese|
|2 tbsp||Blackberry Jam|
|1 tsp||Vanilla extract|
|1/2 tsp||Vanilla extract|
Pour maple syrup and blackberries into a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes, until the berries begin to break apart. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, 1 tsp vanilla extract and blackberry jam. Spread cheese mixture on the bagel bottoms. Place bagel tops back on the bagel bottoms.
Mix egg, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and 1/2 tsp. vanilla together in a bowl. Melt butter in a heavy frying pan. Take the egg mixture and pour a small amount into the pan, (1 to 2 tablespoons). Immediately place one of the cheese-filled bagels on top of the egg mixture and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Cook both sides of each bagel in the egg mixture in the same manner.
Serve Morning Glory Bagels with the warm Maple-Blackberry Syrup and celebrate the start of another perfect summer morning!
