About this Recipe

My mother made this every year before Xmas, I will always remember the smell of our house coming in out from shovelling snow. A bowl of this and a few small butter buns. She left me her hand written recipe book which I cherish and anyone who makes this will know why

Ingredients

1 cups Carrotts

Directions

Chop up 1med onion, 1 whole bulb of garlic, chopped up celery( 4 stalks,) 3 carrots chopped up into rounds, 1/2 lb of bacon and a bone in ham with fat trimmed and 2cups chopped. Soak 1 bag 900kg split peas in cold water for 2 hrs.. Add all ingredients to slow cooker and DO NOT STIR! Set for 4 hrs.

Notes

Don't cook bacon or stir contents to get full flavour of this dish
