All the goodness of sloppy joes without the sloppy! These two bite appetizers are a great addition to your game day feast!
|1||lbs maple leaf prime ground chicken|
|1||85gr package of dry sloppy joe mix|
|1 can||diced tomato|
|1 cup||cheddar cheese, grated|
|1||small onion, diced|
|1 cup||bread and butter pickles, sliced|
|1 cup||prepared fried onion|
|1||small red pepper, diced|
|1||small green pepper, diced|
|1/3 cup||Franks Red Hot Sauce|
|2 tbsp||olive oil|
|12||slider buns, hollowed out|
Preheat oven to 375
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Cook ground chicken for about 6 to 7 minutes breaking apart with the back of a wooden spoon. Add peppers and onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes longer. Add sloppy joe mix and cook stirring often for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and their juices and hot sauce. Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes. Divide mixture between hollowed bun and top each with cheese. Bake for about 6 to 8 minutes until cheese is golden and bread is heated through. Top each with pickles and fried onions.
Make mixture the day before and reheat to serve.
