|1||Large round loaf of Italian bread|
|3 tbsp||(45 mL) Mayonnaise|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Dijon mustard|
|1||(375 g) Package Maple Leaf® Ezee Sub® Hero|
|2 cups||(500 mL) Lettuce, shredded|
|2||Large tomatoes, thinly sliced|
|1/2||Small red onion, thinly sliced|
|2||Canned roasted red peppers|
|1/2 cup||(125 mL) Chopped green or black olives|
|2||Large pickles, sliced|
|6||Slices processed cheese|
CUT the loaf of bread in half horizontally, with ⅔ on the bottom and ⅓ on the top. Hollow out the inside leaving a ¾” (2 cm) shell.
MIX together the mayonnaise and mustard and spread over the entire inside of the bread. Line the bottom of the loaf with the meat slices followed by lettuce, tomatoes, onion, red pepper, olives, pickles and the cheese slices. Top with the remaining bread. Press down firmly on the top of the bread and wrap tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least one hour or up to overnight.
CUT loaf in wedges to serve and mix a little more mayonnaise and Dijon mustard to serve on the side.
Great for a picnic!
