A delicious sandwich made with a quick and simple meatloaf recipe!
|1 lb||(500 g) Ground beef|
|1 Pkg||(500 g) Package Schneiders® Country Naturals® Hot Sicilian Countryside Sausage, casings removed|
|1||Small onion, finely diced|
|2||Cloves garlic, minced|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Chopped fresh parsley|
|Salt and pepper|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Prepared mustard|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Ketchup|
|10||Slices Maple Leaf® Bacon|
|4||Slices White Cheddar cheese|
|8||Slices Villaggio® Original Thick Sliced Italian Style White Bread|
|1/4 cup||(60 mL) Ready prepared BBQ sauce|
|1 cup||(250 mL) Shredded lettuce|
PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C).
MIX all ingredients, apart from bacon, in a large bowl. Form into a loaf shape and place on a parchment lined baking tray. Create a weave with the bacon by laying five strips side by side on parchment paper. Weave the other five strips through crosswise to create a weave pattern. Remove from paper and lay on top of the meatloaf, tucking the ends under the loaf if necessary.
BAKE for 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove from the oven and allow to rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
ASSEMBLE sandwiches by placing a slice of cheese on each of 4 slices of bread then top with a slice of meatloaf. Spread BBQ sauce on meatloaf, top with shredded lettuce and remaining slices of bread.
