A delicious sandwich made with a quick and simple meatloaf recipe!


1 lb (500 g) Ground beef
1 Pkg (500 g) Package Schneiders® Country Naturals® Hot Sicilian Countryside Sausage, casings removed
1 Small onion, finely diced
1 Egg
2 Cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp (30 mL) Chopped fresh parsley
Salt and pepper
1 tbsp (15 mL) Prepared mustard
1 tbsp (15 mL) Ketchup
10 Slices Maple Leaf® Bacon
4 Slices White Cheddar cheese
8 Slices Villaggio® Original Thick Sliced Italian Style White Bread
4 Slices meatloaf
1/4 cup (60 mL) Ready prepared BBQ sauce
1 cup (250 mL) Shredded lettuce


PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C).

MIX all ingredients, apart from bacon, in a large bowl. Form into a loaf shape and place on a parchment lined baking tray. Create a weave with the bacon by laying five strips side by side on parchment paper. Weave the other five strips through crosswise to create a weave pattern. Remove from paper and lay on top of the meatloaf, tucking the ends under the loaf if necessary.

BAKE for 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove from the oven and allow to rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

ASSEMBLE sandwiches by placing a slice of cheese on each of 4 slices of bread then top with a slice of meatloaf. Spread BBQ sauce on meatloaf, top with shredded lettuce and remaining slices of bread.
