A truly Canadian breakfast-- this delicious breakfast sandwich features maple-infused eggs served on a toasted english muffin!
|6||Egg whites or the equivalent from a pre-packaged carton of egg whites|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Pure maple syrup|
|4||Slices Maple Leaf® Lazy Maple Bacon, cooked|
|2||Dempster’s® English Muffins, split and toasted|
|2||Slices Light Cheddar cheese|
|Salt and pepper|
PREHEAT oven to 400°F (200°C).
SPRAY two 3 inch (7.5 cm) ramekins with cooking spray; add 1 tsp (5 mL) of water, set aside.
WHISK together egg whites and maple syrup, season with salt and pepper. Divide mixture between prepared ramekins.
BAKE in preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until set.
PLACE 2 pieces of bacon on the bottom half of each English muffin, top with cooked egg whites, slice of cheese and top of English muffin to form sandwich. Serve immediately.
