Yep - I did it, I named a recipe after one of my kids, because the same says it all for this one. Not only is it her fav, but she likes it best cold, which makes it a great school lunch option, I make it the night before and we are ready to go! It has been a work in progress with some changes from pepperoni to bacon and from mozzarella to marble cheese, but like any good Dad, I make it the way she likes it!
|2||Slices of whole grain bread|
|2||Slices of marble cheese|
|4 tbsp||Tomato Sauce|
|3||Strips of Maple Leaf Ready Crisp Bacon|
|Butter as needed|
Evenly spread the tomato sauce on each slice of bread.
lay one slice of cheese, followed by the bacon and then the next slice of cheese. Add the second piece of bread.
Butter the out side and place in a warm pan. make sure you keep the heat pretty low as you want to cook it long enough that the cheese fully melt and the bacon and cheese blend together.
(but as I have learned, if the bread is too dark it will come home un-eaten!)
Enjoy warm or cold!
