This lightened version of Caesar salad will become a must have in your recipe collection.
|1||Dempsters® Ovenfresh Baguette, cut into 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Italian seasoning|
|.25 cup||(60 mL) Olive oil|
|Salt and pepper|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Dijon mustard|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Worcestershire sauce|
|3||Cloves, garlic, minced|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Anchovy paste|
|Dash hot sauce|
|.33 cup||(80 mL) Mayonnaise|
|2 tbsp||(30 mL) Lemon juice|
|.5 cup||(125 mL) Olive oil|
|.25 cup||(60 mL) Freshly grated Parmesan cheese|
|Salt and freshly ground pepper|
|1||Head Romaine lettuce, torn|
|8||Slices Maple Leaf® Bacon, chopped and cooked crisp|
PREHEAT oven to 375°F (190°C). Place bread in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil. Toss with Italian seasoning and salt and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.
WHISK together all ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
ASSEMBLE salad by tossing lettuce, bacon and croutons together. Drizzle with salad dressing, toss gently and serve immediately.
