Lemon and Parmesan cheese flavours pair well together. Teamed with bacon and juicy chicken, this burger is a sure winner.
|1 lb||(450 g) Maple Leaf® Prime® Naturally Extra Lean Ground Chicken|
|2||Cloves garlic, minced|
|2 tsp||(10 mL) Lemon zest, divided|
|2/3 cup||(150 mL) Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided|
|1/3 cup||(80 mL) Mayonnaise|
|1 tsp||(5 mL) Lemon juice|
|Salt and pepper|
|4||Multigrain buns, split|
|8||Slices Maple Leaf Bacon, cooked|
|1/2||Red onion, thinly sliced|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high. Lightly coat grill with non-stick cooking spray.
USING your hands, gently combine ground chicken, garlic, 1 tsp (5 mL) lemon zest, ½ cup (125 mL) Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into patties.
GRILL patties for 6-7 minutes per side or until evenly browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
WHISK together remaining lemon zest and Parmesan cheese plus mayonnaise and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper.
ASSEMBLE chicken burgers by spreading mayonnaise mixture on the bottom half of each bun. Top each with a chicken patty, bacon, lettuce, tomato and remaining half of bun.
