About this Recipe

Spicy barbecue beans tossed with sliced wieners and sprinkled with grated cheddar cheese.


1 tbsp (15 mL) Olive oil
½ Onion, chopped
1 (14 oz/398 mL) Can beans in tomato sauce
¼ cup (60 mL) Ready prepared barbecue sauce
Dash of hot sauce
2 tsp (10 mL) Worcestershire sauce
4 Maple Leaf® Natural Selections® Wieners, cut into ½ “ (1 cm) pieces
4 Slices Dempsters® Smart® 16 Bread, toasted
¼ cup (60 mL) Grated old Cheddar cheese (optional)


HEAT oil in a saucepan over medium. Add onions and sauté for 3-5 minutes or until soft. Add beans, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, Worcestershire and wieners. Stir together and simmer for 4-5 minutes on low.

SPOON beans and wieners over toast and sprinkle with grated cheese. Serve immediately.
