Sometimes just the right herbs and spices and take a good thing like chicken noodle soup and bring it to a new level. I usually prefer to make my stock straight from the carcass and boil my spices in a spice bag as it boils down. For the sake of ease for others I've changed the recipe to make it quick and easy, but still as nutritious and delicious. With a side kick of aphrodisiac herbs your significant other will never know what hit them.
|9 cups||chicken stock|
|1||clove of garlic, minced|
|1||small vidalia onion, diced|
|2||stalks chopped celery|
|2 tbsp||olive oil|
|2 cups||chopped cooked chicken|
|3 cups||egg noodles|
Bring chicken stock to boil. Saute onions, garlic, celery, and carrots in olive oil until onions are soft. Add veggies, spices, and chicken to pot. Simmer one hour for flavors to blend. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add egg noodles and cook another 10-12 minutes. Enjoy the steamy hot goodness.
Great for a cold winter's day. Good for the immune system if fighting a cold. If you want the extra special touch roast your chicken and then use the carcass and herbs in a large spice bag to make your broth. Use whole cloves and peppercorns in that instance and fresh slices of ginger root and fresh rosemary. This adds several hours to the cooking time though.
