The flavours from the smoked sausage infuse this classic dish with a real punch. A great way to get more veggies into your family!
|4||Schneiders Mild Italian Smoked Chicken Sausages|
|1 tbsp||olive oil|
|1/2 cup||chopped green bell pepper|
|1 cup||chopped spanish onion|
|1 1/4 cups||chopped celery|
|2 3/4 cup||chicken broth|
|1 1/2 cup||uncooked white rice|
|1 cup||medium salsa|
|1/2 cup||marinara sauce|
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
Cut sausages into 1/4" slices. Add to skillet, cook for 5 minutes stirring frequently.
Add onions, green pepper, and celery. Continue to stir frequently for 5 minutes.
Add chicken broth, rice, salsa, and marinara sauce. Mix well. Bring to a light boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 20 minutes until rice is soft.
You can make this with a hotter salsa if you like things spicy, or a mild salsa if you prefer to loose the spice.
