About this Recipe

The basil is the perfect complement to the sweet crabmeat. Delicious on a fresh, lightly toasted Villaggio® Sausage Bun.


1.25 lbs (660 g) Imitation crab meat
2 tsp (10 mL) Capers
1 tbsp (15 mL) Dijon mustard
1 Lemon, juiced
3 tbsp (45 mL) Minced basil
1/2 cup (125 mL) Mayonnaise
1/2 cup (125 mL) Celery, diced
Salt and pepper
1 Tomato, thinly sliced
4 Lettuce leaves
4 Villaggio® Sausage buns, split and lightly toasted


ROUGHLY chopped crabmeat and place in a medium bowl with the all of other ingredients except tomato, lettuce and buns. Toss gently to combine.

ASSEMBLE sandwiches by piling a generous amount of the crab mixture on each bun. Top with tomato slices and lettuce and serve.
