Juicy sausage with sweet potatoes and crunchy red cabbage, grilled to perfection.
|1 Pkg||(500g) Maple Leaf® Sausage Meat|
|1||Sweet potato, thinly sliced|
|1 tbsp||(15 mL) Olive oil|
|Salt and pepper|
|1/2 cup||125 mL) Red cabbage slaw or prepared red cabbage|
|4||Villaggio® Italian Style Crustini Buns, lightly grilled|
|4||Leaves green leaf lettuce|
PREHEAT BBQ to medium-high.
REMOVE sausage from casings and form into four equal patties. Lightly grease your grill.
PLACE patties on the grill and cook for about 7-8 minutes per side or until golden and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
MEANWHILE toss sweet potato slices with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Arrange on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until char-grilled and tender.
ASSEMBLE burgers by topping each bun with lettuce, a sausage patty, sweet potato slices and red cabbage. Finally top with the other half of the bun and serve
